Privacy Policy
Last updated: 17 July 2026
1. The short version
- Your child does not use the app. You do. Everything about your child is entered by you.
- We collect a first name and an age for your child. Nothing more identifying.
- We never record your child's voice or store anything they say.
- You can delete everything at any time, from your settings.
2. What we collect about you (the parent)
- Your email address. For your account, reminders, and billing.
- Your password, stored securely and in a form we cannot read. If you sign in with Google, we do not receive or store a password.
- Your timezone, detected automatically from your browser so reminders arrive at a sensible hour where you are. We do not collect your address or precise location.
- Your reminder preferences: how often you want nudges and at what time.
- Your subscription status and a customer reference from Stripe. We do not store your card details.
- Emails we have sent you, so we do not send duplicates and can honour unsubscribes.
- How you use the app: which screens you open, which lessons you start and finish, and whether you saw the subscription screen. We use this to understand what works, not to identify you personally.
3. What we collect about your child
Only what you enter, and only this:
- First name. So the lessons read naturally. Please do not enter a full name.
- Age. So we can confirm the lessons suit them.
- Which skill pack you chose and how far through the lessons you are.
- The answers you tap on your child's behalf during a lesson, and how you say the lesson went.
That is everything.
4. What we do not collect about your child
- We do not record, transcribe, or store your child's voice. Some lessons ask your child to answer out loud. When you tap "We talked about it", we save only that the step was done. We never save what was said.
- Your child has no account and no login.
- Your child never types anything into the app.
- We do not collect your child's photo, location, school, address, or contact details.
- We do not use your child's information for advertising, and we do not sell it.
5. Why we collect it
- To create your account and let you sign in.
- To pick the right lessons for your child and remember your progress.
- To send reminders you asked for, and emails about your account and billing.
- To take payment and manage your subscription.
- To understand how LessonFive is used, so we can improve it.
6. Who we share it with
We do not sell your information. We share it only with services we need to run LessonFive:
- Stripe, to process payments and manage subscriptions. Stripe receives your email and payment details. Stripe does not receive your child's information.
- Mailgun, to deliver our emails. Mailgun receives your email address and the content of the email being sent.
- Supabase and Lovable, who host our database and application.
- Google, only if you choose to sign in with Google.
- Google Analytics, Meta (Facebook), and Google Ads, for analytics and advertising measurement. See Section 7 for details.
We may also disclose information if the law requires it.
Some of these providers are outside Australia, including in the United States, so your information may be stored or processed overseas.
7. Analytics and Advertising
We use analytics and advertising services to understand how visitors use our site and to measure the effectiveness of our advertising.
- Google Analytics 4 (GA4). We use GA4 across lessonfive.com and app.lessonfive.com to collect anonymous usage data including pages visited, time on page, referrer source, device type, and general location (country and region). This helps us improve our service. GA4 uses cookies. You can opt out via the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on or through your cookie preferences.
- Advertising pixels (marketing site only). On lessonfive.com only, we use advertising pixels from Meta (Facebook) and Google Ads to measure ad effectiveness and to show relevant ads to people who have visited our marketing site. These pixels do NOT run on app.lessonfive.com or anywhere inside the app itself. Advertising pixels use cookies to identify returning visitors. You can opt out via your Meta or Google account privacy settings, or through your cookie preferences.
- UTM parameters. When you arrive at our site from an ad or referral link, we may collect UTM parameters (source, medium, campaign) to understand where our traffic comes from. These are stored temporarily to attribute conversions to their source.
- Cross-domain measurement. For subscribers who move from lessonfive.com to app.lessonfive.com to sign up, we use standard cross-domain measurement via Google Analytics to understand the conversion flow. This does not involve sharing personal information between domains, only anonymous session identifiers.
8. Cookies
We use cookies for the following purposes:
- Essential cookies. Required for authentication, subscription, and payment functionality.
- Analytics cookies. Google Analytics. Opt-out available.
- Advertising cookies. Meta and Google Ads pixels, marketing site only. Opt-out available.
You can manage cookies through your browser settings or via our cookie preferences (if a cookie banner is present).
9. How long we keep it
We keep your information while your account is open.
If you delete your account, we delete your account, your child's profile, your plans and progress, your lesson answers, your usage data, and our record of emails sent to you.
Two things are kept, and we want to be plain about it:
- Your email address on a do-not-contact list. This is how we make sure we never email you again after you leave. It is not used for anything else.
- Your payment history with Stripe. Stripe keeps its own record of payments for accounting and legal reasons. Deleting your LessonFive account cancels your subscription but does not erase Stripe's records.
10. How to delete your information
Open the app, go to the "You" tab, scroll to the bottom, and tap "Delete account". You will be asked to confirm. It is permanent.
If you would rather we did it, email info@lessonfive.com.
11. Children's Privacy
LessonFive is a service designed for parents to use with their children ages 7 to 11. The parent creates and manages the account and provides any information relating to their child. Children do not directly interact with the app or provide information to us.
When creating a child profile, the parent may enter the child's first name and age. This information is used only to personalize lesson content and is not shared with third parties. We do not collect any other information about children.
Advertising pixels do NOT run on any page a child might see. They are limited to our marketing site (lessonfive.com), which is intended for parents.
We comply with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). If you believe we have collected information from a child in a manner inconsistent with this policy, please contact us at info@lessonfive.com and we will delete it.
12. Your rights
You can ask us to show you what we hold about you, correct it, or delete it. Email info@lessonfive.com.
You can turn reminders off at any time in your settings, or unsubscribe from any email we send. We will still send you emails about your account and billing, such as confirming your email address or telling you before your trial ends, because those are not marketing.
13. Security
We protect your information with access controls that keep each parent's data separate, encrypted connections, and passwords we cannot read. Payment details are handled by Stripe and never stored by us.
No service can promise perfect security, but we take it seriously and fix problems when we find them.
14. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. If we make a significant change, we will tell you. The date at the top shows when it was last updated.
15. Who we are and how to contact us
LessonFive is operated by LifeSchool Packs (ABN 86 796 280 194), based in Australia.
This policy explains what we collect, why, who we share it with, and how you can delete it.
